2016 Virtual UnCommon (Slack)
As attendees and presenters at the LITA Forum this year, we invite you to join the LITA Forum Slack team: https://litaforum.signup.team/
Slack allows like-minded folks to find each other and to communicate. It is a community platform and it allows for interactivity previously answered by message boards, Facebook, Google Plus, or LinkedIn groups. Slack stands for “Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge,” and that pretty much describes exactly what it does.
It is a great way to contribute to and listen in on back-channel discussions during presentations and keynotes. It’s amazing what you can learn from others when you can discuss things as they unfold. More information about Slack: https://slack.com/is
There will be a 1st Timer Orientation at 12:15 on November 18th, at the start of the conference. We will include a brief introduction to Slack for those of you who are interested.
For an excellent description of how Slack was used by attendees of another conference, see http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/18/9349425/slack-future-of-conferences-xoxo-festival.
